The logic is quite simple, “you either respect and enforce the law, or you don’t.”

However, if you don’t then you’re in violation of the law, in that aiding and abetting in assisting in the commission of a crime or to be an accomplice of a crime, is a “CRIME.”

Finally, the Trump Administration along with Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen are addressing the issue and are asking federal prosecutors at the Justice Department to see if criminal charges can finally be lodged against those assorted individuals within state and local governments of so-called sanctuary cities.

Ms. Nielsen appearing on Tuesday at the Senate Judiciary Committee, told members that; “The Department of Justice is reviewing what avenues may be available.”

At issue is the growing number of states governed by progressive political activists who’ve decided to either break or ignore existing federal immigration laws, thus becoming outlaw states.

California is perhaps the most egregious with their new sanctuary law going into effect January 1st which restricts cooperation with federal authorities.

Acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Tom Homan told Fox News’ Neil Cavuto on January 2 that the federal government needs to start filing criminal charges against politicians who do not follow the law.

Stating; “We’ve got to start charging some of these politicians with crimes.”

Moreover, the law is quite clear under the “Federal Immigration and Nationally Act; Section 8 USC 1324.”

“Any person who encourages or induces an alien to reside knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that such residence is in violation of law, shall be punished as provided for each alien in respect to whom such a violation occurs fined under title 18 imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both.”

“Penalties upon conviction include criminal fines, imprisonment, and forfeiture of vehicles and real property used to commit the crime.”

Obviously, it’s long overdue regarding elected government officials who’ve taken the oath to abide by the Constitution and the laws of the land, to both respects and enforce those laws…imagine for a moment average citizens cherry picking what laws they want to follow and what laws they don’t. A civil society whose elected leaders don’t respect their countries laws isn’t much of a society.

Do you think filling federal charges against public elected officials will finally end illegal sanctuary cities, or simply create another firestorm for the left?
